What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.
News organizations all over the world have adopted RSS as a way to distribute
up to the minute news reports as they come in. Additionally, power users are
finding new ways to utilize RSS through ideas like "podcasting"
via Apple's popular iPod.
On this website you will see icons that look like this:

These icons link to current news feeds and are designed to be used by any RSS
2.0-compliant aggregator.
Why do I need RSS?
The privacy of your e-mail address is valuable to you. Many people are getting
more paranoid about spam these days and are more reluctant than ever to give out
their e-mail address even to organizations you trust for information you need
(e.g. newsletters). RSS solves this problem since you give out no information
and still receive updated information whenever it is released. Here is how RSS
works:
Let's say that you find a news collection you like the content of and want to
receive updates in that content stream whenever they become available. Assuming
you have an aggregator, you right-click on the icon,
select "Copy Shortcut", and paste the feed's web address into the aggregator.
Getting started with RSS.
Getting started with RSS is fairly simple. Most modern web browsers have built-in
feed readers. If you use one of the more popular e-mail clients, add-ins typically
exist to enable them to support RSS feeds. For instance,
intraVnews is an aggregator for
Microsoft Outlook. Mozilla Thunderbird
has RSS aggregation built into the e-mail client. FeedDemon
is a standalone product.
What is a "Collection"?
CubicleSoft uses a home-grown content management system to generate content
for RSS feeds. This means that if you want to just receive information about
the ShareWrapTM
Product Activation system, you would select the RSS feed that corresponds to
that product. The CubicleSoftTM news
system allows you to select only the news items that you are interested in
receiving.
