VerifyMyPC is a change tracking and management tool that watches for important changes to computers running Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista. VerifyMyPC reduces many technical support call times from 2 hours to just a few minutes.
VerifyMyPC is the ideal tool to aid IT personnel in the removal and repair of:
- Damage from viruses, spyware, and other malware
- Unnecessary applications
- Outdated applications
- Damaged applications
- Damaged drivers
- Damaged operating system components
- Failed software upgrades
VerifyMyPC 2.6 fixes a critical security buffer overflow, merges what used to be VerifyMyPC Advanced into VerifyMyPC, and changes the license on the use of VerifyMyPC. The buffer overflow was introduced in version 2.4 when Alternate Data Stream support was added and users of 2.4 and 2.5 are urged to upgrade immediately to 2.6. This security vulnerability was caught by a user via the Crash Reporting system introduced in 2.5. As always, feedback on VerifyMyPC helps improve the product.
